Method 1: Apply for PAN Card via NSDL Portal (Most Common)
This is the most popular method to apply for a new PAN card online. Follow these steps:
Visit NSDL PAN Application Website
Go to onlineservices.nsdl.com — this is the official NSDL portal authorized by the Income Tax Department.
Select Application Type
Choose "New PAN - Indian Citizen (Form 49A)" from the dropdown. For foreign citizens, select Form 49AA.
Fill Basic Information
Enter your full name (as on Aadhaar), date of birth, email address, and mobile number. Enter the captcha and click Submit.
Receive Token Number
A Token Number will be sent to your email. Use this to continue your application. Save this number — it's your application reference.
Complete the Full Form
Fill in all remaining details — complete address, source of income, Aadhaar number, and identity/address proof details. Double-check your name spelling.
Upload Documents
Upload scanned copies of: photograph (JPEG, 2-20 KB), signature (JPEG, 2-10 KB), and supporting documents (PDF, max 300 KB each).
Choose Aadhaar-based e-KYC or Physical Documents
Select "Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-Sign (paperless)" for fastest processing — this uses Aadhaar OTP verification. No need to send physical documents.
Pay the Fee
Pay ₹107 (including GST) via credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI. For foreign address, fee is ₹1,017.
Submit & Get Acknowledgment
Review your details and submit. You'll receive a 15-digit acknowledgment number. Save it to track your PAN card status.
Receive Your PAN Card
Your PAN card will be delivered via Speed Post within 15-20 working days. You can also download e-PAN from NSDL website within 2-3 days.
Method 2: Get Instant e-PAN for FREE (Fastest — 10 Minutes)
Visit Income Tax Portal
Click "Get New e-PAN"
Click on the "Get New e-PAN" button on the page.
Enter Your Aadhaar Number
Type your 12-digit Aadhaar number and confirm. Tick the consent checkbox.
Verify OTP
An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify your identity.
Validate Details & Submit
Your details (name, DOB, etc.) will be fetched from Aadhaar. Validate them and click Submit.
Download e-PAN (PDF)
Your e-PAN will be generated within 10 minutes. Download the PDF — it's password-protected with your date of birth (DDMMYYYY).

UTIITSL is the second authorized agency for PAN card applications.

If your PAN card has incorrect name, DOB, photo, or any other detail, you can apply for correction:
- Visit NSDL Portal and select "Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data"
- Enter your existing PAN number
